NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Test Server Update – 2025-09-26

Dear heroes,

Thank you for your continued support of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. You have been granted access to our Beta Server.

The adjustments below apply only during this beta period and do not represent the final balance.

Brand New Content

I. New Weapon – Whipsword

Lethal at every turn, danger in every stance!

In the new version, we bring you the Whipsword, a congeneric weapon to the Longsword. Step into battle with it, heroes!

Weapon Skills:

  • Vortex Chain: Hurl the Whipsword in a spinning attack that strikes multiple times.
  • Binding Serpent: Spin the Whipsword to control enemies within a certain range, then thrust forward.
  • Voidpull: During Binding Serpent, pull targets back close to you.
  • Shockbust: During Binding Serpent, knock targets airborne.
  • Storm Chaser: After a charged move, keep on enemies by unleashing a follow-up attack.

II. Survival Mode Glyph System Update

1. Glyph System

The Glyph system has been updated, with branches reorganized into four directions: Swift, Attack, Survival, and Strategy.

Numerous new Potential effects have been added — more builds to explore!

III. Pawnshop now available at Rift Dealers in Survival modes (except Immortal War)

  1. You can pawn Epic or Legendary Souljades or weapons to obtain Dark Tide Coins:
    • Special items or consumable Souljades cannot be pawned.
    • Upgradable Souljades are restored to their initial state when bought back.
    • You can pawn at most one weapon and one Souljade at the same time in a single match.
  2. After pawning in this match, you can buy items back only in the next match of the same type. Match types are as follows:
    • Quick Match (Solo, Duos, Trios); Ranked Mode (Solo, Duos, Trios); all Bot Mode modes.
  3. The time window for buying back, and the Dark Tide Coins cost in the next match, vary with the pawned item's type and quality.
  4. You may dispose of pawned items. Disposed items are lost (up to two times per match).
  5. Once the countdown ends, the Pawnshop can no longer accept trades or buybacks.

IV. New Souljades

Nunchucks Legendary Souljade — Stick of Yang's End

Adds a 2nd-stage move to the Nunchucks' charged Horizontal Strike. Successful hits rapidly build Biding Fury, and while charging, the Horizontal Block range is increased to a 360° detection radius.

Hero Adjustments

I. Akos Hu

  1. The effect of Roar: Blast has been adjusted to:
    • Akos unleashes a roar, sending a shockwave in the aimed direction to attack enemies.
    • Can be charged before release. Charging increases damage and inflicts Terror on enemies.
  2. The effect of Ultimate Feral Frenzy has been adjusted to:
    • Akos channels his Qi into the form of a tiger, knocking back nearby enemies. Gains new attack moves, lasting 22 sec in Solo and 25 sec in Duos/Trios.
    • During the Ultimate, press Jump to perform Tiger Leap. After landing, tap Horizontal Strike to use Pounce; hold Horizontal Strike to charge the Pounce, increasing damage and restoring your own Health/Armor. Damage taken is reduced during Tiger Leap and Pounce.
    • Successive Tiger Leaps increase jump speed and boost the Focus and attack power of Pounce.
    • Tiger Leap cannot be interrupted by non-Focus moves or the Grappling Hook.
    • Scale Rush, and Horizontal/Vertical Strikes during airborne Tiger Leap, are all converted into stronger Tiger-Claw attacks.
    • Can be used while under attack.
    • After the Ultimate is activated, press the Ultimate key again to unleash a Tiger-Form burst — tackling and heavily striking the enemy while restoring your own Health/Armor. Usable twice.
  3. Damage multiplier of Ultimate Feral Frenzy's 2nd-stage move against enemies with transformation traits increased from 0.1 to 2.0, with a recovery multiplier of 1.6.
  4. Feral Frenzy: Lockdown — the Tiger-Claw Scale Rush after climbing the banner can now be charged before release. Hits knock enemies airborne, with a damage multiplier of 2.5.
  5. Skill Roar: Terror has been removed.
  6. Ultimate Feral Frenzy: Grab has been removed.

Dev Notes: Akos Hu's unique Tiger Leap and Pounce mechanics had decent pressure and offense in the current version, but lacked burst potential. We've folded the Tiger-Form burst move from Ultimate Feral Frenzy into a charged Pounce within Feral Frenzy: Grab, while retaining the 2nd-stage Ultimate and the tap-Pounce performance of Feral Frenzy: Grab, with the goal of boosting his burst and flexibility.

The knock-up after a fully charged Roar: Blast was hard to start or extend combos with in certain combat situations. We've changed the hit effect to the control effect Terror, while keeping the long stagger from the tap-release hit. The goal is more consistent hit results and stronger initiative-taking in multi-player modes.

II. Wuchen

The following adjustments have been made to Ultimate Tai Chi Teleport: Blade Storm:

  1. Adjusted the blade storm effect generated after the Ultimate hits enemies: the overall blade storm rhythm is unchanged, but the mid-sized spirit blades spawned mid-sequence (which could interrupt White Focus moves) have been changed to small spirit blades (which cannot interrupt any actions). The number of large spirit blades is unchanged, and their damage multiplier has been adjusted from 2.1 to 1.6.
  2. Slightly increased the strike-detection interval of the Sword Array generated when the Ultimate misses enemies.
  3. Increased the Ultimate's cast interval from 6 sec to 8 sec.
  4. Activating the Ultimate now refreshes skill cooldowns and grants the new move Spirit Blades · True Edge:
    • Wuchen condenses Qi into 5 Flying Swords around himself, lasting 60 sec.
    • Press Skill again to launch the Flying Swords. Flying Swords can Clash with melee weapon attacks (without reducing the melee weapon's durability).
    • Hold Skill to charge a Flying Sword launch. Charged shots inflict greater stagger the longer they are charged, and can break Blue Focus moves.
    • Can be used while under attack.

Dev Notes: The pressure from spirit blades cast by the current V2 Tai Chi Teleport: Blade Storm was too strong, while the payoff for a complete miss was too low — once he whiffed, Wuchen lost any effective means of contesting enemy Ultimates.

To smooth out this extreme experience, we've reduced the hit-payoff of Wuchen's Ultimate and removed the mid-sized spirit blades. As compensation, we've decided to give Wuchen a more powerful derived skill while the V2 Ultimate is active.

We hope this change improves the playability of Wuchen's Ultimate and skill, and creates more interaction between Wuchen and his opponents — for example, casting Flying Swords from range to disrupt the enemy's evasion of the Blade Storm, or charging a Flying Sword launch to land a stagger and improve the Blade Storm hit rate.

III. Tessa

The following improvements have been made to Ultimates Enchant and Enchant: Group Prey:

  1. Rage consumption on Ultimate cast reduced from 60% to 45%. If the Ultimate successfully hits an enemy, an additional 15% is consumed.
  2. If the Ultimate hits a single enemy, Tessa gains Foxfire for 3 sec; if it hits multiple enemies, she gains Foxfire for 4 sec.

Dev Notes: Tessa's whiff punishment was a bit too heavy. We hope this change shortens her vulnerable window after a missed Ultimate and reduces the negative experience. At the same time, adding Foxfire should give Tessa a combat advantage for a brief window after a successful Ultimate hit and improve her survivability, helping her avoid getting focus-fired down.

IV. Inor Wan

  1. Slightly reduced the startup frames of ground Vertical Strike moves in the Thunder Lord state; ground Vertical Strike damage multiplier adjusted from 2.0 to 1.7.
  2. Lightning Execution damage multiplier increased from 3.3 to 3.6.
  3. In the Thunder Lord state, after landing a ground or airborne Vertical Strike on an enemy with Thunder Mark, if no other interrupting action (jump, dodge, etc.) is taken, the Lightning Execution animation will automatically chain after a short delay.

Dev Notes: After triggering an execution as Thunder Lord, no follow-up input is needed to complete the execution animation — this lowers the input barrier.

V. Lannie

The following adjustments have been made to Ultimate Tricky Bounce: Leap:

  1. Damage reduction from charging and releasing the Trick Ball adjusted from 70% to 30%.
  2. After releasing the Trick Ball, if it ends up more than 40 m from Lannie, the finisher move will be cast in place rather than teleporting Lannie to the ball's position. If the ball is within 40 m, the effect is unchanged.

VI. Cyra

  1. Damage multipliers of the Ultimate's level 1 and 2 pursuit beams adjusted from 1.5/2.5 to 1.3/2.3.

VII. Feria Shen

  1. The Bronze Mech's auto-repair delay has been adjusted from 3.5 sec to 5 sec, and the repair rate from 90/sec to 60/sec.

VIII. Temulch

For Ultimate Storm Prison, the airborne dash attack can now only be performed when a Melee Weapon is equipped.

Dev Notes: This change is intended to avoid unnecessary interference for players using Ranged Weapons inside the sandstorm.

IX. Other Adjustments

Cooldowns have been improved for the following skills in Duos/Trios:

  1. Takeda Nobutada's Mythic Grab: Takedown cooldown reduced from 20 sec to 18 sec.
  2. Hadi's Mechanical Arm cooldown reduced from 20 sec to 18 sec.
  3. Lyam Liu's Magnet Attract cooldown reduced from 21 sec to 20 sec.

Combat Adjustments

I. Disengage Mechanic Adjustments

  1. Skill and Ultimate hits will now clear Disengage value.
  2. Reduced Disengage value gain from certain moves.
  3. Improved the visual cue for being eligible for a Catch Disengage during the Disengage window.
  4. Fixed a large number of cases of abnormal Disengage value gain.

Souljade Adjustments

  1. Sap and Ripple Step & Phantom Step have been adjusted from Epic to Legendary.

In-Game Adjustments

I. The Herald's Trial Ranked Team Restrictions Optimized

Removed the rank-difference restriction when players at Solar I and below team up in Ranked Mode (Duos/Trios).

Dev Notes: We want new and returning NARAKA players to team up more freely in Ranked. We'll keep watching the impact on the ranked environment and adjust as needed.

II. Free Training

  1. Hero vs. hero combat training has been added for Temulch, Kylin Zhang, Cyra, and Lannie.

III. Profile Background Optimization

The profile background equip screen has been redesigned for a smoother interaction. The visual presentation of the Champion Fight Point reward backgrounds Crimson Sky and Crimson Sky · Shatter has also been upgraded — equipping a profile background now also replaces the overall background of the profile screen.

Rift Traversal Adjustments

I. New Rift Traversal Equipment

The hidden Fistblades strike like a rainbow, shattering the sky with a single blow. The Fistblades join the Rift Traversal battlefield.

New Celestia Fistblades: Septus

  • Arcane: Septus Slash — Each successful attack consumes 5% of your Max Health and applies Vulnerable to the target, increasing the hit damage they take by 1.5% for 3 sec. Stacks up to 7 times. While your Health is below 50%, this effect no longer drains Health. Once Vulnerable reaches 7 stacks, you inflict Internal Injury on the enemy: within 3 sec, if they dodge, they take an Internal Injury strike; if they don't dodge, you crash down on them with a descending fist attack — on hit, restoring 15% of your Max Armor.

New Legendary and Extreme Fistblades: Fistblades · Windclaw

  • Extreme: Cloud Weaver · Borrow Force — Alters the 2nd-stage charged Horizontal Strike. If you trigger a perfect dodge during Wild Sweep, the move is upgraded to a Golden Focus Strike.

New Legendary and Extreme Fistblades: Fistblades · Wild Cutter

  • Extreme: Mistwalker — Greatly reduces the Stamina cost of Wild Sweep, with a slight increase to its maximum charge duration. Each Wild Sweep grants a 3.3% Attack bonus for 2.2 sec, stacking up to 6 times.

Fistblades Rubrics:

  • Tempest Kick: Alters the Fistblades' 2nd-stage charged Vertical Strike.
  • Sky Punch: Alters the Fistblades' crouching Vertical Strike.

II. Out-of-Match Changes

  1. Preparation improvements: The loadout screen layout has been redesigned. Switching equipment now displays the change in Preparation Score, and a new shortcut lets you quickly save your current loadout as a preset.

III. In-Match Changes

  1. High-quality Relic drop rates from Drunken Fire Crate · Legendary and Drunken Fire Crate · Epic have been increased across every difficulty.
  2. Search time for combat items has been significantly reduced.
  3. Open time for all Caves except the Internal Chamber has been reduced.

Showdown Adjustments

I. Combat Adjustments

  1. Improved crosshair display and audio cues for the Bow martial skill Void Destroyer when entering the 2nd stage of its charge.
  2. Improved the attack rhythm of Agnivat's summoned Omni Core, and the cue when Agnivat switches her weapon to the bow.
  3. Added background music for when Agnivat summons Omni Core and when she uses Solar Ice Fall.

II. Sharing Souljade and Potential

  1. The Showdown preparation screen now has Import the Souljade & Potential Preset and Share Souljade & Potential Preset buttons. From this screen, you can share your current hero's Souljade and Potential setup directly to the chat channel.
  2. Tap another player's shared preset code to view their Souljade and Potential setup, and apply it to any hero you have unlocked. You can also use the Import the Souljade & Potential Preset button to enter a preset code manually and view/apply a shared setup.

III. "My Target" Tab Added to the Suggest Souljades Screen

  1. You can set Recommended sets, Player Favorites, and other players' shared sets as your target. Targeted sets can be reviewed under the Recommended tab.
  2. When a campaign drops Souljades that match your "My Target" list, that campaign will be flagged with a visual marker. In addition, when using a Souljade Choice Gift, target Souljades will be pinned to the top of the list.

IV. New Recommended Sets

A new officially Recommended Souljade & Potential set has been added for every hero.
